The world of Iyashikei can be basically divided up into two parts. Iyashikei City, which sits on a massive island or, 'the Main Hub' in the center of a large bay, and the Outer Rim. While there are many smaller islands in Iyashikei Bay, nothing is close to the size of Iyashikei City. The bay leads out to the ocean. Those living in Iyashikei City want a more fast-paced and on-the-go lifestyle. Meanwhile, those living on the Outer Rim prefer the slower and quieter setting.
On the east side of the Outer Rim are two major landscapes, the Iyashikei Redwood Forest sits at the base of the Iyashikei Whitecap Mountains. It's the perfect place to get away from it all and reconnect with nature.
On the west side of the Outer Rim are the Farmlands. The Farmlands go on and on for hundreds upon hundreds of miles until it hits the base of a much smaller mountain range.
North of Iyashikei City and the Outer Rim is the ocean. All along the coast are cozy and sleepy little beach homes and stores. It's very common for people to rent out a beach bungalow during the summer. It's arguably also where to get the freshest seafood.
On the south side of the Outer Rim is more forest, though nothing like the giant redwoods. It's hotter and more humid than the redwood forest near the mountains. This forest is more diverse in its flora and fauna and at times can be downright tropical.
On the west side of the Outer Rim are the Farmlands. The Farmlands go on and on for hundreds upon hundreds of miles until it hits the base of a much smaller mountain range.

One of the biggest landmarks in Iyashikei is to the east of the city. Casting an impressive shadow
are the Iyashikei Whitecap Mountains, which are so tall, they are never without snow on their peaks. At the base of the mountains is a giant redwood forest that nudges all the way up to the coast and follows the mountain range well past civilization.
The Iyashikei Redwood Forest boasts numerous trails, lakes, cabins, camping sites, and a lovely lodge that is open all year long but is especially busy during winter. However, the Iyashikei Redwood Forest is a protected habitat, so housing cannot be permanent for anyone who is not a ranger; only temporary visits are allowed.
While community gardens are very common in Iyashikei, it's not enough to feed a whole city. The Farmlands, located on the Outer Rim, is where most of the crops and livestock for the city are grown or kept. It is also where a good deal of Re-Quests come from as there is always SOMETHING that needs to be done there: from livestock getting loose, a harvest to gather, or a new crop to plant. It is also where the biggest festivals are held as they have the capacity to hold the entire city's population safely.
This is where all characters first arrive, and, ultimately, where they would leave from as well. Here, characters can ask to leave, get a business license, apply for a city job, or ask for items and beings from home to come to Iyashikei. This is also where the Council meets, meeting with the Council requires advanced notice, but they are happy to meet with anyone who has come to help their cause.

And another that looks like a white rabbit with a gem on its forehead? Some traditional wizards and witches looking sorts, and a few who look like mad scientists) to just chuckle while others rub their temples at the memory. While some might say they'd be happy to explain (those that even answer in words at all), several others will groan and insist on not revisiting that headache.

While there are all sorts of libraries in the city, in fact, there are even Book Buses that travel all over Iyashikei to sell books. There is no greater resource of knowledge than the Great Athenaeum. Only Yadah University has a library that even comes close to the Great Athenaeum's archives. But, The Great Athenaeum isn't JUST for scholarly endeavors! There are all sorts of poetry readings, book clubs, meet the authors, children's reading hour (they're always looking for readers!), and many other community programs that happen through the Athenaeum.
There are multiple means of transportation in Iyashikei: cars, motorcycles, bikes, buses, even airships, and more! But, the two most frequently used are the Metro-Rail and the canals. The Metro-Rail goes all over the city and Outer Rim of Iyashikei, with the longest line being from the Farmlands all the way to the base of the Iyashikei Mountain Range Visitor Center. It's not uncommon for many people to take the Long Line for a beautiful scenic ride and relaxing day. As you need Stardust to ride the Metro-Rail, all of the Rail cars have become bioluminescent.
While the exact center of the city does not have any waterways, canals run throughout all of Iyashikei Main Hub and Outer Rim. Iyashikei prides itself on its clean and pristine waters and it's not unheard of for people to swim in the canals on warmer days. During the winter, the smaller canals of the city freeze over and become public ice rinks!
A large theme park with its own hotel. It's the pet project of one of the Council Members. Whimsy World is on its own island between the inner hub and Outer Rim and also has a direct Metro-Rail station and Rail car covered in the park mascots. It's a popular destination for all ages, especially to meet the park mascots: Whimsy Babbit and her friends!
There are many, many places to buy produce and food around the Main Hub and Outer Rim. There are cafes, restaurants, farmers' markets, convenience stores, grocers, and more! There's prepackaged and grown fresh, but if you want the very BEST, freshest, and the widest variety of ingredients, then the BIGGEST place to get them all is the Waterway Bazaar. Waterway Bazaar is located in the largest canal across from the Farmlands. Waterway Bazaar goes from sunrise to sunset every day. Why? Well, so much Stardust is exchanged at the Bazaar, that the water glows at night and is a popular destination spot for couples. The only time the Bazaar is empty is on special holidays or the monthly canal cleanups.
Should you need something more mystical or magical, or the ingredients to MAKE something of that nature, the only place to get such items is Mystic Market. It is located on its own island, just in case any of the magical and mystical items being sold get a bit out of hand. There is no stop on the Metro-Rail for Mystic Market, as some of the items can't mix with technology, so it can only be reached by boat.
Filled to the brim with the best, most advanced technology and thorough spellcraft anyone could want, Heart of Hope Hospital is the biggest hospital in Iyashikei, like with any of the hospitals in either the Outer Rim or Main Hub, characters with unique dietary needs can have those needs met at Heart of Hope. Heart of Hope cares for each individual who comes through its doors with care and kindness, right down to the hospital food being amazing to ensure a comfortable and restorative stay.
While the lodge is open year-round, the lodge's most famous feature is its magical hot springs. The hot springs are only open during the winter, however. Still, the lodge sits right up against a small lake at the base of the Whitecap Mountain range and is a great place to reconnect with nature. It offers all sorts of nature walks and talks, it has an animal ambassador program to help people learn how to live alongside nature rather than in opposition. It has all sorts of trails to travel.
During winter time, the lodge sets up a ski lift to both bunny slopes and much more extreme slopes. During spring and summer, people love to go and play in the lake or tour the super blooms that are frequent around the lodge. Fall tends to be the quietest time for the lodge as the redwoods are evergreens and don't change their leaves like the orchards in the Farmlands do.

GADGETS AND GIZMOS A-PLENTY
While there are plenty of places to get modern tech in Iyashikei, a popular (and one of the largest) places to go is G.G.A.P. Gadgets and Gizmos is run by a lovely red-head who is eager to show you all of her items. Her white-haired assistant is NOT someone to go to if you need anything fixed, and no one is quite sure why the owner even lets him work with her equipment. Although, he is an amazing salesman. But, don't worry, you can trust the other two store clerks to help you get something fixed if things start going haywire. One is a little timid and the other is super crabby, but they're both very knowledgeable about tech. She has the very best deals on parts and other technology.
HOCKETY POCKETY ODDS AND ENDS
An antique store that both buys and sells. The actual owner of the store is never in and it's run by a young blonde who looks like a stiff wind could blow him over, but Hockety Pockety basically has a little bit of... everything? A great place to buy used books or a tea set, dozens of globes of all sorts of planets that may or may not be ones you know, toy trains and airplanes, really Hockety Pockety always has something interesting to find. Oh! And hey! Is that the ornery owl who brought you the scroll? What is HE doing here?
BOLDLY GO BLENDS
A chain of cafes in Iyashikei. They have some truly out-of-this-world coffee flavors and blends. They are open 24 hours a day, every day of the week. There are all sorts of colorful employees who work at the chains and every owner of the cafes is a bit different but all seem very nice! It is not uncommon for there to be poetry readings, improv skits, comedy nights, and more to happen at the cafes. What's especially unique about the cafes is that the owners are all called captains!
BADGER BURROW BREWS
Mystic Market is home to all sorts of shops for both the actual magic user and the fun browser. One such shop is Badger Burrow Brews. It's run by a very handsome young man with a cute smile. He sells potions and potion ingredients. However, Love Potions are prohibited in Iyashikei and any hint of one will get the Council on your case in a matter of seconds. Nothing to worry about, though. B.B.B. sells only safe potions and ingredients. Get the owner in the right mood and he'll tell you a tale about how he once faced off against a dragon and some mermaids.
